All Black On Stage | Mobile Ops & Stage Hands

We have been emailing or texting everyone who either has ran a Mobile Camera or volunteer as a Stage Manager/Hand to be sure to wear dark (preferably black) pants and pick up/wear their new Long Sleeve Black production team shirt. We are going to make this official now.

If you volunteer on a Sunday morning in the Main Room as either a Mobile Camera Operator or one of our Stage Managers/Hands please be sure to wear pants and your Long Sleeve Production Shirt. The pants do not have to be black, but please not light blue jeans. The long sleeve shirt is just for during the services, so if you would like to during the summer hours to wear another short sleeve short during rehearsal and backstage please feel free to do so.

The reason for this is to be unseen as much as possible while on stage. This helps prevents camera ops from being seen directly in other camera operators shots. For Stage Managers/Hands it keeps you guys in the dark better during stage transitions.

If you have any questions please feel free to email Paschal at mike.paschal [at] portcitychurch.org.

**If you are not a Mobile Camera Operator or Stage Manager/Hand and would like a long sleeve t-shirt please contact Paschal.

Spring Cleaning | One Room Down

Over the last two days the Production Staff has started some spring cleaning together and we were able to knock out one or our equipment storage rooms & stair wells that were housing unused equipment. We have moved all the gear we no longer use on a regular basis to a rented warehouse across the street. We then organized and label the entire room. Below are some photos of the new look.

This room will house Lighting, Video & Audio equipment. During set builds this room will be a workspace for volunteers and staff when making new power runs, video runs, gel acquisition, gel cutting. We hope that you guys will get to enjoy the room soon and be on the look our for the next step to be the backstage area!

Advanced Training Nights | The Next Step

Beginning in 2010 we will begin holding In-House Advanced Training sessions for most every position on the PC3 Production Team. There will be a total of 3 sessions for each position during each year. An each volunteer will be required to attend 2 out of  the 3 training session to continue volunteering for the team (we will schedule one-on-one’s if you are unavailable).

The reason for the requirement is to keep our team continuing to grow in our skills and find new ways to polish our skills together. The training nights will last no more than two hours max, usually less. We will cover the basics for 30 minutes each session, then followed by 1 to 1 1/2 hours of new topics not discussed in your beginner training days.

We will schedule the Training Sessions through Planning Center Online along with a detail setlist discussing the topics of the night. We cannot wait to get the first session under our belt and to begin growing closer as a team on these special nights!
