Clear Com Volume | IMPORTANT

This is something we will be adding to the weekly reminders. Each time you take your headset off and leave your position please turn both “Talk A & B ” all the way down. This is VERY IMPORTANT for our Mobile Camera ops to do each and every time they leave this stage, especially  during the message segment of the day. Mike Ashcraft, or whoever else is on stage speaking, are able to hear the chatter as the message is being Directed from the video control room. We also discovered that people on the front row are able to hear the floor cameras belt pack as well.

So as a recap and the picture illustrates below, if we are not wearing the headset please turn both “Talk A & B” all the way down before leaving. I have a hard time personally doing this when leaving stage during a video Bump.

Thanks guys for everything!

NEW Clear Com Channel Layout

We have updated and re-wired the entire Clear Com system today. We have listened to many of you guys and your comments and suggestions. We hope this new system will help to clear up confusion with cross chatter during the services.

Below is what the Producer & Director will be referring to. If you are not a Director, then you will ALL now speak on Talk B of your Clear Com belt-packs. Every single position will speak on Talk B, and the Talk A will be still be the Party Line (which means everyone can speak to each other on Talk A).

So what you can do is look below and find your position. Whoever else is in your Channel, that is who you will be hearing and talking to when you listen and talk on Talk B. If you have any questions leave a comment please. We will be going over the new routing each weekend during our Pre-Rehearsal meeting together.

New Wireless Com Unit

BTR-800

Today we tested our “new” RadioCom BTR-800 Wireless Intercom Base Station during a training session for new mobile camera ops. This unit is not brand new, but is a used unit with four beltpacks that we purchased form Browns Bridge Community Church. The unit came back from Telex yesterday has been tuned up and ready to go for use by us now.

What this unit does for us is allow our stage manager’s, producer’s & trainers to move around the entire main room and surrounding areas with a wireless intercom connection. This means that you stage manager’s out there are able to stay in constant connection with your producer and others while moving around on stage and backstage. This is going to allow communication during blackouts on stage, transitions, prepping the band and techs in the green room, etc.

We will begin training on these new units this Sunday. We must take care of these new units and follow the procedures that will posted backstage to allow us to get the longest product life out of this purchase. We are very excited to provide you guys with this technology and we hope this will set you guys up for even more success come Sunday mornings.

If you have any questions leave a comment or email me.
